A section of the A50 westbound in Staffordshire has been closed due to a "car fire".

The incident has affected the A50 westbound in Staffordshire between A521 (Draycott in the Moors) & B5029 (Blythe Bridge).

Staffordshire Police and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service are working at the scene.

Delays of 40 minutes on the approach were reported by National Highways this morning (8.25am)

National Highways said: "The A50 westbound in Staffordshire between A521 (Draycott in the Moors) & B5029 (Blythe Bridge).

"The road has been closed due to a car fire.

"Staffs Police & Staffs Fire are working on scene.

"Current delays of 40 minutes on the approach with 3 miles of congestion."
