Staffordshire Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision on the A34 Stone Road last night (2 November).

The collision happened at around 8.30pm when a grey BMW estate and a black Renault Clio collided on the southbound carriageway, between Trentham Gardens and the Monkey Forest island.

Emergency services were called to the scene but sadly, a 21-year-old local man, who was driving the BMW, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in the BMW and the driver of the Clio were taken to hospital with injuries that were not deemed life-threatening.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "We're appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time or those travelling between Trentham and the Monkey Forest island at about 8.15pm last night to get in touch with us, particularly those with dashcam footage.

"Call 101, quoting incident 691 of 2 November, or email collision investigators directly using [email protected]."
