1930s-style 'luxury' train set to stop in Stoke-on-Trent in May

A 'luxury' 1930s-style train pulled by a heritage locomotive will be stopping at Stoke-on-Trent on the way to the Chelsea Flower show.
The 1930s Pullman-style Northern Belle, will be stopping at Stoke-on-Trent station on Thursday 21 May.
It will be pulled by a heritage diesel locomotive which will be announced closer to the journey.
The train will depart Manchester Victoria at 6.35am and call at Crewe (7.45am), Stoke-on-Trent (8.15am) and Birmingham International (10.05am) before reaching the final destination, London Victoria at 12.50pm.
It will then depart from London Victoria at 6.55pm and stop again at Stoke-on-Trent at 11.40pm.
A spokesman for the train said: "This is always one of our most popular trips and not everybody is paying £1,000. That is only those passengers booked in our exclusive Krug class carriages.
"The price does include champagne, a slap-up three-course brunch on the way to London, transfer and entry to the show, then more champagne and a sumptuous six-course feast with wine and port during the journey home.
"We like to think we won't only be taking people to London, we will be transporting them back to the golden days of rail travel. A time when nothing was too good for the pampered passenger."
Passengers will also be able to enjoy the onboard musicians and conjuror.
The Northern Belle was originally launched by the Venice-Simplon Orient Express company in 2000 as the British equivalent of the iconic Orient Express.
Wakefield-based businessman David Pitts, the Northern Belle from the Orient Express group for an in 2017 and it is now British-owned and run.
The train was described as "the Grand Dame of luxury travel" by Bill Nighy when it featured on Channel 5's 'The Most Scenic Railway Journeys' programme.
