15-year-old boy arrested after police recover stolen car in Meir

A teenager has been arrested after officers recovered a car stolen from a driveway in Stoke-on-Trent.

A red Jeep was taken near Lysander Road in Meir Park, on Wednesday 17 January, at around 6.30am. The owner had left the vehicle to defrost with the engine running.

Officers spotted the car on Stanton Road, in Meir, on Saturday 20 January, at around 10am. Police followed it until two males got out and ran down Stanton Road.

Officers followed on foot and arrested a 15-year-old boy, from the Stoke-on-Trent area, on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving and driving whilst unfit through drugs.

He has been released on conditional police bail while enquiries continue.
