A family-run local company is literally helping people to keep a roof over their head.

Richard's father worked for Redland Roof Tiles so the links to the roofing industry go back three generations in the French family. Richard set up the business many years ago and son Haydn joined him as his right-hand man.

Richard started off life in the roofing industry as a young apprentice and has been in the trade all his working life. Son Haydn joined the family business at the age of 16 and like his dad, has worked in the industry all his life.

It was completed by the firm's specialist lead man and although the weather was against him, it was fitted and finished in just over a day.

Another job recently completed involved a full re roof with Marley Mendip grey tiles, new uPVC fascia and soffit replacement with full size uPVC fascia, low level roof fully replaced along with all fascia and soffit and new cladding to the gable and front face.

Nowadays, Richard French is often found working ensuring the business is up-to-date with contract and industry body membership.

He said: "There aren't many local companies with our experience and knowledge. We spend a lot of time and money ensuring we comply with all the rules and regulations and keep up-to-date with any new legislation in the industry.

"We want to provide a fully comprehensive service to all our customers, however big or small the job is. It doesn't matter whether it is a job we're on for a few days or one for several weeks we give the same level of service and care."
