A Stoke-on-Trent law firm has strengthened its growing office with the recent appointment of five experienced legal professionals.
Smith Partnership, a law firm with offices across Staffordshire and the East Midlands including Stoke-on-Trent, has made five new appointments across four practice areas.
The new recruits join the firm's expanding presence in the historic former Sentinel newspaper building on Bethesda Street in Hanley, demonstrating the firm's continued commitment to the Staffordshire region.
Emma James has joined the Stoke on Trent lawyers as a Senior Associate in the Family department, bringing extensive experience in all aspects of family law.
Emma specialises in divorce, financial matters and private law children matters, taking a strategic and compassionate approach to supporting clients through often difficult times.
Emma said: "I'm delighted to be joining Smith Partnership at such an exciting time for the Stoke office.
"Family law matters can be incredibly challenging for clients, and I'm looking forward to working with the team here to provide the support and expert guidance people need during what are often the most difficult periods of their lives."
Another recruit, Kelly Gray, has been appointed as an Associate in the Childcare team.
Kelly represents parents, grandparents and family members in care proceedings, as well as working with CAFCASS on complex cases involving the protection of children. She brings expertise in handling sensitive matters involving social care intervention.
Kelly said: "I'm thrilled to be part of Smith Partnership's highly regarded childcare team. These cases require sensitivity and a genuine commitment to achieving the best outcomes for children and families.
"I'm looking forward to supporting clients across Staffordshire through what can be extremely difficult circumstances and helping them navigate the complexities of care proceedings."
The Stoke office also welcomed further team members in Mark Sheppard and Nicola Bell who joined their Criminal Law department as Associates, bringing experience in criminal defence to support the firm's reputation in Stoke and its surrounding areas.
Emily Spence also joined as a Paralegal in the Private Client department, supporting the team with wills, probate and estate administration matters.
Steve Hennessy, Partner and Branch Manager, commented: "We are delighted to welcome Emma, Kelly, Mark, Nicola and Emily to our growing team in Stoke.
"These appointments reflect our commitment to investing in talented local legal professionals who share our values of client care and legal excellence.
"Our Stoke office continues to go from strength to strength since moving to the former Sentinel building, and these new team members will help us deliver the high-quality legal services that clients across Staffordshire have come to expect from Smith Partnership."
