About You

Are you an organised and proactive maintenance professional who thrives on planning and optimising engineering activities in a bakery or food manufacturing environment. You take pride in keeping production equipment running efficiently and enjoy coordinating across teams to deliver realistic and actionable maintenance plans. You're comfortable using data to drive decisions and passionate about developing routines that make maintenance predictable, safe, and world-class.

What we are looking for:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (minimum); HNC/HND or above preferred.
  • Experience planning maintenance activities or projects, ideally in food manufacturing or FMCG
  • Knowledge of maintenance methodologies and continuous improvement principles.
  • Stakeholder management and leadership skills, with the ability to coach and grow team members.
  • Awareness of health, safety, and environmental legislation (IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent desirable).

About the Role

As a Maintenance Planner, you'll be the strategic lead for planning maintenance across the bakery. You'll coordinate between Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to deliver prioritised, realistic, and repeatable maintenance plans, while reacting flexibly to emerging opportunities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and delivering the bakery's maintenance strategy.
  • Using data to prioritise work and measure the efficiency of maintenance routines.
  • Planning and coordinating maintenance activities, including engineering shift teams at weekends.
  • Supporting hands-on maintenance when required to keep production running.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives and embedding best practice across teams.
  • Ensuring all maintenance work is recorded in CMMS and compliant with HSE requirements.
  • Managing contractors to ensure compliance with policies.
  • Developing the capability of Factory Support Technicians and promoting knowledge-sharing across teams.
