A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager to join a well-established specialist manufacturing business. As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing and leading the success of the finishing department, developing performance, processes, and output. Managing a team of 3 supervisors and a team of 62. Job Description for the role:

  • As the Operations Manager, you will lead the team in SAP usage for optimal data processing, analysis, and planning.
  • Toolbox talks and regular shift meetings with all shifts, including night workers.
  • Creation of production schedules in all plants.
  • Stock management and rotation, and ordering of consumable materials.
  • Support the development of new and existing external/internal customer base, support estimating and pricing new/potential orders.
  • As the Operations Manager, you will ensure on-time, on-quality, and on-cost delivery of post-fabrication processes and coated parts for delivery to customers
  • Lead, promote, and manage the achievement of an exceptional level of Health & Safety compliance and culture
  • Manage and drive production KPI s
  • Regular review of production performance with the team to drive output
  • Understand the changing needs of staff and deploy strategies and tactics to enhance workplace wellbeing and overall employee satisfaction
  • Identify appropriate development and training for direct reports, including underperformers and high performers
It would be good to see candidates with the following skills and experience:
  • Must have previous experience working as an Operations Manager, Production Manager, Manufacturing Operations Manager, or similar role is essential
  • A proven background in Manufacturing, Factory, Production, or Engineering is essential
  • SAP Business One experience would be highly preferred, however,r not essential. will consider other ERP/MRP system experience
  • Proven background in driving Improvements and production efficiencies
  • Calm under pressure and be able to manage a hectic and changing workflow
  • Ability to delegate
  • Strong scheduling experience or planning experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong people leader with proven background in managing people, performance, training, and development
  • Results driven
