A leading provider of custom luxury packaging for the retail sector, supplying some of the worlds most recognizable brands. They are currently seeking to hire a Business Development Manager to join their successful team.

Title:Business Development Manager

Salary:£55,000 - £60,000 OTE £80,000 - £90,000 plus company car & benefitsHybrid

Purpose of job:

To research and proactively manage new prospect pipelines within the retail and luxury brands sector. Secure profitable new customers, as outlined by the Business Development Director

Key Accountabilities:

Win profitable new customers focussing on retailers within the Fashion, Cosmetics, Watches & Jewellery and focusing on High end & Luxury brands

To work closely & collaboratively with the BD Internal support account manager to include objective setting, KPI review and regular performance reviews.

To attend trade forums that will generate additional prospects that will grow our pipeline

To have the ownership of a prospect database & pipeline within Salesforce to ensure we get monthly reporting to show the status of our new business efforts

Establish and develop relationships with major target prospects at all levels and entertain clients as required

Work with other departments within the company both locally and internationally on the design and implementation of value-added products and services to our customers.

To support the negotiation of new and existing enquiries in conjunction with the Business Development Director

Ongoing competitor analysis.

Monthly reporting of sales activity and business results.

Participate in business projects as and when required.

Attend training courses as and where necessary to ensure personal and team job skills keep pace with legislative and business developments.

Manage the implementation of new business wins into the existing sales team with direction from the Sales Director

Skills & Competences:

People Management

Preferred but not essential.3 years people management experience

Arranges work schedules and prioritises work to meet deadlines. Seeks clarification and approval where appropriate before commences new projects or working methods.

Technical Skills:

Computer Literate, numerate, attention to detail, logical and methodical approach to work.

Experience and Additional Requirements

A knowledge of the UK retail marketplace

Packaging knowledge

Bespoke product/print knowledge

Far East & Import product knowledge

Point of sale display / instore display
