Deputy Manager Children s Residential Homes (EBD)

As a Deputy Manager, you will assist the Registered Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the children's residential home, ensuring the highest standards of care are provided. You will lead and inspire a dedicated team of Support Workers, working closely with children and their families to support their emotional, social, and developmental needs. You will also ensure that all regulatory requirements are met and that ClearCare systems are efficiently used to manage care plans, logs, and compliance documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the management and delivery of high-quality care for children with Emotional and Behavioral Difficulties.
  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of carers, ensuring they adhere to policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of care plans using ClearCare, ensuring they are tailored to individual needs.
  • Work closely with families, social workers, and other professionals to provide holistic support for each child.
  • Ensure all compliance and regulatory standards are met, including safeguarding and health & safety protocols.
  • Handle staff scheduling, training, and performance management.
  • Maintain up-to-date records using ClearCare, including incident reports, care logs, and assessments.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the home, encouraging personal development and life skills.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in children s residential care, particularly with children who have Emotional and Behavioral Difficulties.
  • Previous experience using the ClearCare system for care planning, reporting, and record-keeping.
  • NVQ Level 3 or higher in Children and Young People (or equivalent) Level 5 preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with children, families, and professionals.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • A compassionate and empathetic approach to working with children with additional needs.
