- Ensure children, young people, and their families are involved in the assessment and care planning process.
- Adhere to practice standards and meet Social Work England registration requirements.
- Support families to keep their children safe and take appropriate action when necessary.
- Safeguard and promote the health and well-being of children and young people.
- Manage complex casework with children, young people, and their families.
- Efficiently and effectively deploy departmental resources.
- Provide support and cover for the Principal Manager as needed.
- Contribute to information management processes and participate in performance management systems.
- Carry out assessments and manage child care plans within prescribed timescales and standards.
- Take personal responsibility for professional development and maintain required performance levels.
- Devise support plans in partnership with children, families, agencies, and networks.
- Provide professional expertise at meetings and represent the local authority in statutory settings.
- Mentor and support less experienced team members and participate in service improvement initiatives.
- Maintain children s records in accordance with departmental procedures.

- Commit to professional development and contribute to team meetings and service improvements.
- Professional Social Work qualification certified by Social Work England.
- Meet Social Work England registration and re-registration requirements.
- Thorough knowledge of current children s social care legislation and safeguarding guidance.
- Extensive knowledge of related legislation such as education and housing.
- Comprehensive knowledge of child development and disabilities.
- Knowledge of assessment and intervention methods, case management, and casework methods.
- Experience of restorative practice and complex social work with children and families.
- Significant post-qualification experience in a social work setting.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to build relationships and relate effectively to children, parents, and carers.
- Insight into own behavior and ability to respond to challenges.
