Summer Steaming Event

Jesse Shirley's 1857 potters' mill at Etruria, which ground bone, flint, Cornish stone and other materials for the pottery industry, will be in steam and operating on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th July - a chance to see a piece of local industrial heritage in action! The museum and visitor centre will be open from 10.30am, with the mill running from 1.2.30pm until 4.30pm.

Take a walk along the canalside and enjoy light refreshments in our tea room. There will also be blacksmith demonstrations in the on-site Forge, and we'll be showing the film of the restoration of the Caldon Canal to celebrate 50 years since its reopening.

Entrance to the mill is £10.00 per adult. Guided tours (subject to availability) are available at £15.00 per adult. Under 16s go free when accompanied by a paying adult.

Free parking and free bicycle storage on site.
