Join us for a family fun day celebrating our WW2 Spitfire. Meet members of 'The Erks' a living history group focusing on the enlisted ranks of the wartime Royal Air Force and the exiled Polish Air Force.

Also discover what life was like for the ordinary citizens with characters from 'Spirit of the Homefront' living history group. Hear about rationing, hairpins, coal and clothing and the extraordinary roles people undertook.

Ahead of the official launch on 15 September have a go at sitting inside an authentic Spitfire Simulator for free. This is a great photo opportunity whilst sitting alongside our genuine Spitfire RW388. Please note there is a minimum age of 10 years plus weight and height restrictions.

Free, 11am – 4pm.

Children can also have a go at making their own Spitfire and Flying Badge to take home. £3 drop in 11am – 3pm.
