The Love that Remains (15, subtitles)

This quietly powerful drama follows an Icelandic family over the course of a year as parents Anna, an artist, and Magnus, a fisherman, attempt to navigate an amicable separation. Nestled in the stark beauty of the Icelandic countryside, their home has long been a haven for their three children and the family's charismatic sheepdog, making the slow unravelling of domestic life all the more affecting.

Told through a series of tender, sharply observed vignettes, The Love That Remains pairs striking cinematography with the raw allure of Iceland's beautiful landscapes. What emerges is an intimate, gently surreal tragicomedy: a portrait of love in transition, where changing seasons and moments of humour and unexpected joy cast a warm, unusual light on a difficult chapter in the family's story.

Icelandic dialogue with English subtitles.
