Two Stoke City players marked the Easter period by delivering 1,200 chocolate eggs to the Royal Stoke University Hospital.

Josh Tymon and Axel Tuanzebe made the delivery in partnership with Platinum Partner, Foodhub, with a treat provided for each patient receiving treatment on the wards.

Jane Holmes, Deputy Chief Nurse, UHNM NHS Trust said: "It's really important to us at UHNM to have such great relationships with the football Club.

Defender Tuanzebe delivered the eggs in partnership with Foodhub (Stoke City FC).

"Them coming round to give us a boost today by giving eggs to our patients is genuinely authentic and kind and we really value that. We're really grateful, just that little gift means an awful lot."

Josh Tymon said: "The people we've seen in here are the ones who pay their hard earned money to see us play on a Saturday, so for us to give a little bit back is important. For us, it isn't a lot, but for them it's massive in their lives and can really affect them."

The eggs were donated to patients on wards at Royal Stoke University Hospital (Kerry Ashdown).

Axel Tuanzebe said: "When you are on the pitch you sometimes don't always see the emotions people have towards you, but when you get up close and witness it first-hand it's really nice as a player to see how you can affect a lot of people of all ages."
