Woman charged with assault following incident in Hanley

A woman has been charged with assault following an incident in Hanley at the weekend.

Sharna Elson, 22, of no-fixed-address, has been charged with assault thereby occasioning actual bodily harm and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place. 

It comes after officers were called to Trinity Street, Hanley, shortly after 9.15pm on Saturday (30 September) following reports of an assault.

A woman in her 30s was taken to hospital for treatment.

Elson is due to appear at North Staffordshire Justice Centre today (Tuesday 3 October).
