Woman and child found with 'serious injuries' after A50 crash

A woman and a toddler were found with 'serious injuries' after a car flipped on the A50 last night between Blythe Bridge and Uttoxeter.
The emergency services were alerted just before 10pm on Monday after a silver Mercedes was seen on its roof. The child was taken to the Birmingham Children's Hospital, while the woman was taken to the Royal Stoke.
A second woman sustained non-serious injuries and was also taken to the Royal Stoke.
Three ambulances, a paramedic officer, the fire service and police were all dispatched to the eastbound carriageway last night (25 August) and the road remained closed for around nine hours.
Now Staffordshire Police is appealing for witnesses.
In a statement, the force said: "Officers are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision on the A50 at Blythe Bridge last night (Monday 25 August).
"Just before 10pm, we received a report of a silver Mercedes on its roof on the A50 between Blythe Bridge and Uttoxeter.
"We attended the scene alongside colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service.
"We are appealing for any witnesses to contact us. We are also keen to speak to those with dashcam or CCTV footage of the area at the time.
