There's plenty to get up to in and around Stoke-on-Trent this weekend.

Cake Box launch | Longton | Fri 15 May

Cake Box, a franchise which specialises in eggfree cakes, will officially open its latest branch on the Strand, Longton on Friday 15 May.

To mark the opening, the bakery - which sells egg free cakes and products - will be hosting a launch event with free cake slices available for the first 100 customers, 100 free cupcakes for children and product sampling throughout the day.

A spokesperson for Cake Box said: "We're hosting a special launch event on Friday 15 May 2026 from 11am, and it's set to be a fantastic day for the community.

"This will be a free event, open to the public, with plenty happening throughout the day to encourage families, shoppers, and locals to come along and celebrate with us."

Exit 8 | Stoke Film Theatre | Hartshill Rd | Fri 15 to Sat 16 Mar

Stoke-on-Trent's independent cinema, Stoke Film Theatre, will be showing Exit 8 on Friday 15 March and Saturday 16 March at 7:45pm.

The cinema is located at The Wade Centre, Hartshill Road.

Stoke Film Theatre said: "Strange phenomena begin to unfold when a man finds himself trapped in a seemingly endless subway tunnel, in this uniquely disorienting Japanese horror.

"Inspired by the hit video game, Exit 8 transforms its minimalist premise into a mind-bending cinematic experience that far surpasses its origins.."

Tickets are available online at £9.16 for an adult ticket (including booking fees).

Repair Cafe | Basford | Sat 16 May

Social Connective CIC will be running the Newcastle Repair Cafe at St. Mark's Church, Basford from 10am to 2pm on Saturday 16 May.

The Foundling Museum said: "Newcastle's Repair Café where you can bring your items to be repaired for free, including electricals, textiles, and household (excluding appliances, watches, clocks and smart devices)"

Amelia's Pop Up Café will be serving a selection of cakes, baked goods and hot and cold drinks.

Indi Fest 2026 | The Indi Club | Sneyd Green | Sat 16 May

Project Indi will be hosting Indi Fest at The Indi Club in Sneyd Green on Saturday 16 May from 2pm to 6pm.

Project Indi said: "Join us for an action-packed day of fun at Indi Fest. A festival themed fun day for the whole family.

"You will find an amazing line-up of live music featuring Loren, performers from The Song Loft and Mike and the Floorfillers."

All funds raised at Indi Fest will support Project Indi.

Castle Artisan Market | Newcastle-under-Lyme | Sun 17 May

The Castle Artisan Market will be taking place on Sunday 17 May from 10am to 3pm at The Stones, Newcastle-under-Lyme.

The organisers said: "Castle Artisan Market is back this May, bringing a fresh burst of creativity, community and proper good vibes to Newcastle-under-Lyme.

"If you love a relaxed Sunday filled with great food, unique finds and supporting local talent, this is your kind of day."

There is free parking available on council-owned car parks.
