Stretch of M6 closed following 'serious' crash

There are 'severe delays' on the M6 northbound between Stafford and Stoke-on-Trent following a crash earlier today.
The M6 north between J14 and J15 is closed due to a "serious collision".
Staffordshire Police are leading the response.
There are currently delays of 120 minutes and seven miles of congestion
National Highways said: "The M6 in Staffordshire is closed northbound between J14 (Stafford) and J15 (Stoke on Trent)following a serious collision that occurred at approximately 05:10am.
"Staffordshire police are leading the response at this stage with collision investigation work ongoing.
"Traffic Officers are on scene and assisting with strategic closures on the approach with plans being made to release the traffic caught within the closure.
"Specialist contractors have also been tasked to attend the scene to treat a large fuel spillage and to inspect a near side barrier that was damaged during the collision.
"There are delays of up to 2 hours on the approach to the closure at J14."
National Highways has advised northbound traffic to follow the hollow triangle diversion symbol on road signs:
- At the M6 J14, take the exit to the A34 northbound
- Continue along the A34 northbound to its junction with the A500 at Hanford.
- Take the exit to the A500 westbound and continue to the M6 J15 roundabout.
- Rejoin the M6 northbound at J15.
