Watch moment chair thrown at Stoke-on-Trent Wetherspoon bouncer in 'drunken' row

By Nub News Reporter 12th Sep 2025

A shocking video has captured the moment a chair was thrown at a Stoke-on-Trent Wetherspoon bouncer in a "drunk" row.

The fight was witnessed at 11am on Monday (8 September) at The Reginald Mitchell, on Parliament Row, in Hanley.

A video shows the customer arguing with a member of security behind the bar before being pushed out. Moments later, the man can be seen hurling a chair at the bouncer, who caught it and threw it straight back at the customer as he was leaving.

Scott, 36, from the city, witnessed the incident and said: "I think the guy was just really drunk and somehow got behind the bar.

"The security was trying to get him out but he refused to move and got aggressive, which is when it got physical.

"Ultimately, the guy got kicked out of the pub and security made sure he couldn't get back in."

Stoke Nub News has approached JD Wetherspoon and Staffordshire Police for statements regarding the incident.
