Veterinary group opens 'innovative' practice in Stoke-on-Trent

A new veterinary practice has opened in Stoke-on-Trent with special features designed to reduce pet anxiety.
The family-owned veterinary group, Harrison Family Vets, has opened at the Anchor Road Retail Park in Longton in a unit which has previously been used by Co-op Food, Morrisons Daily and Vets4Pets over the years.
The new practice aims to bring a unique experience to pets and their owners at "affordable prices".
Managing director, Tim Harrison, said: "We are pushing the boundaries when it comes to delivering the very best five-star experience for pets visiting our practices.
"Every pet receives VIP treatment from the moment they arrive with a pre-visit questionnaire that helps to understand pets likes and dislikes when visiting the vet, we ensure they receive a warm and personalised welcome."
The new Stoke practice has separate dog and cat wards featuring kennels equipped with built-in heat pads, mood lighting and music therapy for relaxation.

The practice also includes four vet consulting rooms, two nurse consulting rooms, a separate dental suite with dental X-ray capabilities, a digital X-ray suite, an operating theatre and an ultrasonography unit.
The practice features new "innovative" private "pet pods" in its waiting area which are designed to minimise stress and anxiety for both pets and their owners.
The practice hopes this will shield animals from the stress of facing other pets in a traditional waiting room and owners can even choose a treat from the treat station.
Tim added: "From bespoke kennels to a treat menu offering options like whitebait, liver paste, and cheese spread, we go the extra mile to make sure pets feel at home."
