Various pubs across Stoke-on-Trent are calling on their customers to help spread a little Christmas cheer by writing cards to people facing loneliness and isolation this Christmas.

Until Sunday 15 December, the pubs are encouraging customers to write festive messages to someone in hospital, a local nursing home or community group.

Pubs will provide a list of recipients and will deliver the Christmas cards, making it easy for anyone who wants to take part.

Also taking part in the scheme is The Old Sal, Longton (Nub News).

The pubs taking part are:

  • Cat Inn, Stoke-on-Trent
  • Old Sal, Stoke-on-Trent,
  • Travellers Rest, Stoke-on-Trent
  • Berwick Inn, Stoke-on-Trent

Over the past two years, Proper Pubs has donated almost 40,000 Christmas selection boxes to local charities, with thousands more set to be donated this year, through the kind generosity of its community members.

Also taking part are Newcastle-under-Lyme pubs, Iron Monkey, Black Horse Inn and Mitchells.
