A retail unit in Stoke-on-Trent - which has been vacant for around 16 years - has been put on the market for £300,000.

28-32 Market Street in Longton was formerly home to Woolworths, but the unit has been empty since the brand collapsed in 2008.

The premises has been listed by Rory Mack Associates, who describe the unit as an "extensive retail premises with first floor offices and storage".

The listing says: "An extensive two storey retail premises comprising an open plan ground floor sales area together with ancillary offices, welfare and storage accommodation at first floor with a rear goods entrance with roller shutter access.

The unit has been empty since Woolworths collapsed in 2008 (LDRS).

"Thought to have originally constructed as a Woolworths store during the 1970's the property is concrete framed with extensive glazed frontages and flat roof coverings.

"There is a goods lift towards the rear of the sales area which provides direct access to the storage area above. There are two entrances to the ground floor sales area making the splitting of the building a relatively straight forward exercise to accommodate smaller requirements."
