Upcoming Stoke-on-Trent exhibition to showcase local work based on the colour green
By Liana Snape 2nd Apr 2026
An upcoming Stoke-on-Trent exhibition will highlight the work of local artists created around a specific theme – the colour green.
Great Bear Gallery in Tunstall will be showcasing the 'The Palette Project: GREEN' from 23 to 26 April.
The exhibition will bring together the work of over 40 artists from Stoke-on-Trent and the surrounding areas and each piece has been inspired by the colour green.
The project builds on the success of a similar exhibition last year based around the colour pink.
Emily Bratby, manager of Great Bear Gallery, said: "The Palette Project began as a simple idea: choose a colour and see what happens.
"What has made it so impactful is the range of artists involved and the originality of the work produced.
"This next instalment continues that momentum, showcasing the depth of creative talent within our local community."

Emily also stressed the importance of supporting art and artists in the local community.
She added: "At a time when Stoke-on-Trent has fewer galleries and exhibition spaces than in previous years, initiatives like this are becoming increasingly important.
"Based in Tunstall, we are passionate about creating accessible opportunities for artists to exhibit their work and for the public to engage with art locally.
"We believe this exhibition is not only a celebration of creativity, but also a reflection of the area's artistic community and its resilience."
The Great Bear gallery and workshop spaces are based on Hose Street in Tunstall, once home to Northern Soul hotspot The Golden Torch.
The gallery, which has been open since 2022, sits below Great Bear Tattoo, which has recently celebrated 10 years in the town.
Emily explained: "Through workshops and exhibitions, in collaboration with both businesses and individual creatives, we aim to give something back to the city - helping to bring out the creative side of our community while inspiring the next generation of artists."
The exhibition will be open to the public from 10am to 6pm on 23, 24 and 25 Aril and from 10am to 4pm on 26 April.
