Guerrilla Training is a popular community hub gym which offers a range of fitness classes and personal training sessions.

Based on Hartshill Retail Park off Shelton New Road, the gym was opened 10 years ago by personal trainer, Andy Weston, and his two friends.

Andy started his career as an apprentice at a university sports centre before deciding he wanted to set up his own gym in the Newcastle area.

Guerrilla Training offers a whole range of fitness classes and personal training sessions (Nub News).

He told Stoke Nub News: "We noticed that there was nothing like what I offer this side of the city so I started looking for spaces to set up a gym.

"We started off as just offering circuit training and personal training which ran for around three years before I decided to evolve the classes and make them more unique because more places were offering the same as us.

"I wanted to stay ahead of the game so I changed classes and started offering cardio and ads, tabata, strength and conditioning and pure abs classes.

"Now we offer the best and biggest variety of classes and that's what people come for - we're different from everyone else".

Guerrilla Training operates as a pay-as-you-go service, classes cost £5 or regulars can book 12 sessions for only £50.

Classes cost £5 each or Andy offers the option of booking 12 sessions for only £50 (Nub News).

Andy said: "What I offer is completely different to chain gyms in that way, my classes are an hour long and I actually get involved in each session.

"Everyone says that it's a really good workout, it's fun, it's just a really nice community to be around.

"Gyms can be very intimidating but people in here go out of their way to say hello to each other, I'm very lucky that we've built that."

As well as offering classes and personal training sessions, Andy also branches out into schools and does mini circuits and body weight movements with local children two or three times a week.

Also based at the gym, IN2 Health & Wellbeing run a variety of school holiday clubs for children in the local area.
