Investigation launched following 'unexpected' death of man in Stoke-on-Trent

An investigation has been launched following the death of a man in Stoke-on-Trent this week.

Police received reports of a man in cardiac arrest at a property on Eastfield Drive, Hanley, shortly after 2.05am on Wednesday (13 September).

Paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service were already at the scene.

Sadly, a 34-year-old man was pronounced dead a short time later. His family are being supported by specially-trained officers at this difficult time.

A cordon has been set up at the address whilst officers carry out their enquiries. 

Police are treating the death as unexpected and an investigation has been launched.

A 43-year-old woman, from Stoke-on-Trent, has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs. She has since been released on conditional police bail.

Another woman, aged 41, from Stoke-on-Trent, has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class B drugs. She remains in custody at this time.

Police are treating the death as unexpected and an investigation has been launched (Staffordshire Police).

Police are carrying out enquiries in the local area and are keen to hear from any witnesses who may have information which can assist with the investigation.
