Two people have been taken to hospital following a house explosion on Wellesley Street, Shelton.

The explosion, which happened on Monday 1 January, was caused by a faulty e-bike battery.

One of the people in the house was hospitalised with burns and smoke inhalation, whilst another was also taken to hospital with smoke inhalation - A third person suffered minor injuries.

The explosion happened on Monday 1 January at a home on Wellesley Street, Shelton (Google).

Following the incident, police are warning people to check their batteries regularly for any sign of damage.
