Two people were rescued from a fire inside a derelict building in Stoke-on-Trent yesterday.

Firefighters were called at 8.25am on Wednesday 14 January to Cobden Street in Longton following reports of smoke coming from an empty building.

Staffordshire Police and the West Midlands Ambulance Service also attended the scene.

A man and a woman were rescued from the building and treated by paramedics.

The fire was extinguished using a hose reel jet.
