Three arrested after around £10k-worth of drugs seized in Stoke-on-Trent

Three men have been arrested after around £10,000 worth of drugs were seized following a stop-and-search in Stoke-on-Trent.

Officers from the Staffordshire Police major and organised crime proactive teams stopped a vehicle in Smallthorne on Wednesday (14 January) after intelligence showed the vehicle had been potentially linked to drug supply.

Three people were detained at the scene and a number of addresses were then searched.

Staffordshire Police said that during the search, around £10,000-worth of drugs including heroin, crack, cocaine, monkey dust, cannabis and nitrous oxide were seized, along with £4,000 in cash and a number of mobile phones.

A 27-year-old man from Newcastle-under-Lyme, was arrested on suspicion of two counts of being concerned in the supply of a class A drug, including cocaine; being concerned in the supply of a class B drug, cannabis; and possession of a class B drug, cannabis; possession of criminal property and driving without a licence.

A 20-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs, heroin; possession with intent to supply class A drugs, cocaine; being concerned in the supply of a class B drug, cannabis; and possession with intent to supply a class C drug, nitrous oxide, for wrongful inhalation.

An 18-year-old man, also from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class B drugs, cannabis.

All three remain in police custody while Staffordshire Police inquiries continue.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "Officers continue to work to identify, locate and prosecute individuals believed to be involved in the supply of drugs in Staffordshire as part of targeted operations."
