Two people arrested following serious house fire in Stoke-on-Trent

Two people have been arrested following a serious house fire in Stoke-on-Trent.

Police and firefighters were called to Harpfield Road, Trent Vale, at 3.20pm yesterday (2 September).

A fire was reported inside a house on the road, thankfully nobody was inside at the time and the blaze was extinguished.

Two people have been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life (Katie Boot).

A 28-year-old man, of no fixed address, and a 20-year-old woman, from Stoke-on-Trent, have been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life.

They remain in custody.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "Anyone who has any information that can help with our investigation is asked to get in touch by calling 101, quoting incident 419 of 2 September, or use Live Chat on our website."
