Two people arrested after stabbing in Stoke-on-Trent

A man has been left with a 'serious' leg injury after a stabbing in Stoke-on-Trent this morning.
Police and paramedics were alerted to the incident in Shelton, on Havelock Place, at 12:20am on Thursday (17 July).
A man in his 20s was taken to the Royal Stoke with a serious leg injury but it is not thought to be life-changing or life-threatening.
Two 24-year-old men, both from Stoke-on-Trent, have been arrested in connection with the stabbing and remain in custody this afternoon.
The investigation into the stabbing is ongoing and Staffordshire Police has appealed for information and CCTV footage from the public.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "Two people have been arrested following a stabbing in Stoke-on-Trent.
"We were called to Havelock Place, Shelton, at 12.20am today (Thursday 17 July) following reports of an injured man.
"Officers promptly attended the scene alongside colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service.
"The man, in his 20s, was taken to hospital with a serious injury to his leg. His injury is not thought to be life-changing or life-threatening at this time.
'Two men, both 24 from Stoke-on-Trent, were arrested on suspicion of section 18 – wounding with intent.
"They remain in police custody at this time. Our investigation is ongoing."
