Two men have been jailed after more than 600 cannabis plants were found in Stoke-on-Trent.
Thanh Duong, 38, and Duong Van Nguyen, 45, both of no fixed address, were sentenced at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court today (Monday 11 May) after both admitting conspiracy to produce cannabis a class B drug at an earlier hearing.
Duong was jailed for one-year-and-two-months and Nguyen was jailed for one year.
Chief Inspector Laura Davies, who leads on the Staffordshire Police response to cannabis cultivation, said: "Cannabis grows are often linked with serious criminal networks and usually involve the exploitation of vulnerable people.
"I am glad that we were able to disrupt the cultivation and supply of cannabis in the area after acting on the concerns of local people.
"We will continue to act on intelligence and target drug supply in Stoke-on-Trent and wider Staffordshire."
It comes after officers forced entry to a building on Weston Road, Weston Coyney, following intelligence that cannabis was being grown on 22 October last year.
Inside, they found approximately 618 cannabis plants and associated equipment.
Duong and Nguyen were both found hiding in the loft.
