Two men have been arrested after Staffordshire Police responded to reports of a burglary in Stoke-on-Trent.

Officers were called to Old Whieldon Road, Stoke, at about 10.45pm on Monday (20 October) when two masked men were seen entering a business building.

Staffordshire police sent armed officers and dog support to the scene where two men were found inside and detained.

An imitation firearm was also seized from inside the building, as well as a HGV that was found outside.

Two vehicles from the business are currently missing and efforts are being made to locate them.

The 38-year-old man and the 24-year-old man, both from Nottingham, have been arrested on suspicion of burglary. The men were questioned in custody and bailed with conditions while the investigation continues.

Staffordshire Police said: "We're acting robustly to investigate burglary, theft and robbery across Staffordshire. Through this work, we've been able to reduce the number of associated crimes in 2024, when compared to the year before.

"Those found to be responsible for these crimes in our communities will be dealt with robustly."
