Two men arrested after stolen car seized in Hanley

Staffordshire Police are appealing for information after a stolen car was seized and two people were arrested in Stoke-on-Trent.

A Hyundai had been tracked to a petrol station on Clough Street, Hanley at around 2pm on Wednesday 24 January.

Checks revealed the car had been stolen recently from a car park on Hulme Road, Park Hall, Stoke-on-Trent, at around 8pm on Tuesday (23 January). 

Police went to the scene and blocked the car in. The driver tried to reverse out but was stopped. Officers found a knife and class A drugs. 

Two men were arrested and have been released under investigation (Nub News).

A 21-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft, possessing an offensive weapon in a public place, possession of a class A drug and obstructing a constable in execution of duty. 

A 27-year-old man, also from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft. 

Both have since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
