Two cars have been stolen in Newcastle-under-Lyme after a key safe was targeted by suspected thieves.
Officers were called to Park Avenue, Wolstanton, after two cars were taken from the driveway of a house at 6.30am on Friday (8 May).
Staffordshire Police explained that the suspects had forced their way into a key safe on a side wall to gain entry to the home.
One of the cars, a Peugeot, was found abandoned and damage further down the road and the second car, a BMW, was found on Dentdale Close, Meir.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "We believe two suspects were walking along Park Avenue at about 2.50am towards the home before the burglary took place.
"Anyone with any information is asked to get in touch by calling 101 or using Live Chat on our website, quoting incident 111 of 8 May. To report anonymously, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
The police force is also urging people who have a key safe to remove the keys, if possible, or relocate the safes to another area which is not near the front or back doors.
