Two arrested as monkey dust and MDMA seized in Newcastle-under-Lyme

Police searched an address near Knutton Lane last week and found 18 phones, drugs, cash and scales (SWNS).

Two people have been arrested after police seized cannabis, monkey dust and MDMA as part of efforts to tackle 'community priorities' in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

At around 8am on Thursday (25 January), officers searched an address near Knutton Lane and found the drugs, as well as 18 mobile phones, cash, scales and deal bags.

A 49-year-old man, from Newcastle-under-Lyme, has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of cannabis.

A 45-year-old woman, from Newcastle-under-Lyme, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class B. 

Both have been released under investigation whilst enquiries continue.

All people arrested have been released under investigation whilst enquiries continue (Staffordshire Police).

At around 2.15pm on the same day, police also found lots of class C prescription drugs after searching an address on Liverpool Road. 

A 47-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, and a 40-year-old man, from North Staffordshire, were both arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug. 

Both have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
