Amateur darts players from Stoke-on-Trent compete in national grand final

Two amateur darts players from Stoke-on-Trent beat thousands of entrants to make it to the grand final of a nationwide tournament.
Bradley 'The Torpedo' Moorhead and Matt 'Toystory' Woodward battled against nine other finalists last week to compete for the title, £5,000 and the chance to play against Darts World No. 1, Luke Humphries.
The tournament saw players from 700 Marston's pubs across the UK compete against each other to secure their place on the leaderboard and at the grand final.
Matt and Bradley, both from the city, moved up on the leaderboard at their local pub and made it to the final event.
Bradley 'The Torpedo' said: "It's been a once-in-a-lifetime experience, especially meeting Luke!
"The atmosphere was amazing and all the players were so friendly. Everyone was cheering each other on, just like in my local when I play there.
"Even though it's been a competition, it's felt just like a great pub culture."

Nile 'Hotshot' Gott from Darlington won the grand prize and national title but all 11 players in the final were able to meet Humphries at The White Hart pub in Ashby.
Matt 'Toystory' was one of the four players with the fastest times after completing the challenge in their local pubs, so automatically proceeded to the quarter-finals.
He said: "Meeting Luke was great, he's so down to earth and he felt like another one of us players.
"It's been surreal to meet other players from around the UK and connect over the game we all love."
