Scott Gallon, aged 26, from Tunstall, was sentenced at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Tuesday (31 January).

He admitted controlling and coercive behaviour, stalking, assault, making threats to kill and a driving offence, at an earlier hearing.

For these offences, he was handed a total four-year and eight-month jail term.

During the same hearing, Gallon was also sentenced for drug-related offences, from 2019 to 2021, which he had admitted at a previous hearing.

It followed his arrest in March 2021 after officers searched an address in Fenton and found more than £3,500-worth of class A drugs and more than £4,000 in cash.

The court heard how Gallon had been spotted selling drugs in Cobridge and had thrown away packages of heroin and monkey dustwhen we approached him in March 2020.

He subsequently pleaded guilty to: being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine, possession with intent to supply heroin, monkey dust and class A drugs and three charges of possessing criminal property.

For these offences, Gallon was handed a five-year and three-month jail term, to run concurrently to his sentence for the domestic abuse, driving and bail offences.

The total sentence for all his offending, including both consecutive and concurrent terms, was 10 years.

PC Kate Rushton, from the Stoke South local policing team (LPT), who dealt with the drug investigation, said: "I am pleased that Gallon admitted his offending and that we were able to disrupt his crimes within our communities.

"We are determined to prevent drugs from entering our communities and will do all we can to make sure offenders are brought before the courts."

Detective Sergeant Dawn Moody, of CID North, who dealt with the domestic violence side of the case, said: "Gallon inflicted an enormous deal of physical and emotional abuse on the victim who has shown immense bravery to come forward and support our investigation.

"We want domestic abuse survivors to know that we are here to support them as much as we possibly can."
