The family of a man who died after a collision in Draycott-in-the-Moors on Christmas Eve have paid tribute to him.

Police and paramedics were called to Uttoxeter Road at around 8.45pm on 24 December to reports of a serious collision involving a Vauxhall Vectra and a Hyundai.

Sadly, Charalambos Nicolaou, 62, from Cyprus, died at the scene.

In a tribute, Charalambos's daughter said: "My beloved father was killed the day before Christmas. He was an amazing father, brother and a kind-hearted person that everyone loved.

"He was my whole world especially after my mother's death years ago. My father did not deserve to leave this world the way he did. He was taken away from me in a horrible way.

Mark Plimmer, of Blythe Bridge, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving (Nub News).
