Tribute paid to ‘much loved’ grandad who died following a crash in Stoke-on-Trent

Family members have paid tribute to the 'much loved' man who died following a Stoke-on-Trent crash.
Staffordshire Police were called to Meigh Street in Hanley, following reports of a crash involving a red Seat Leon and a pedestrian at 11.26am on Saturday (28 March).
The pedestrian has now been confirmed to be 80-year-old Barry Mumford from Werrington.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "Barry was taken to hospital after suffering serious head injuries but tragically died later the same day.
"His family continue to be supported by specialist officers."
Barry's family said he was a "much loved dad, grandad, and brother, taken from us far too soon.
They added: "He was young at heart, active, independent, and always there for his family.
"We are devastated by his loss and ask that anyone who may have seen anything to please come forward."
The driver of the Seat is assisting the collision investigators with their enquiries.
Staffordshire Police has urged anyone who was in the area with any information or dashcam footage which could help collision investigators to call them on 101, quoting incident 324 of 28 March, message them using Live Chat on their website, or emailing emailing [email protected]
The collision took place at 11.23am on Saturday 28 March.
