Major retailer TK Maxx has hinted at a new Stoke-on-Trent store as a planning application is submitted to the city council.

TJX Europe, the company that owns TK Maxx, has submitted a planning application to Stoke-on-Trent City Council to put up new signs on the Festival Park unit that was previously Argos.

The Festival Park Argos store closed in February 2024.

The planning application states: "Proposed new 3D internally illuminated individual letters, new LED keyline illumination, vinyl lettering to shopfront and Goods in sign at rear for new tenant."

Floor plans submitted with the application show a TK Maxx unit between Go Outdoors and JD.

TK Maxx has not yet said when the new store will open.

Stoke-on-Trent City Council has yet to make a decision on the proposals.
