With Christmas fast approaching there's enough to do without trying to remember if there will be any changes to bin collections.

Thankfully, most Stoke-on-Trent councils have online bin checkers which allow you to see when your next collection will be.

Councillor Sav Scalise, Cabinet Member for Environment, said: "We know people are really busy at Christmas so we're making checking all the details regarding changes to waste collections as easy as possible."

Staffordshire Moorlands District Council

There will be no collections on Monday 26 and Tuesday 27 December and Monday 2 January.

Brown bin collections will be suspended between Monday 26 December and Friday 6 January and will resume from Monday 9 January.

Residents in the Moorlands can easily check re-arranged collections over the festive period by using the Find Your Bin Day search, entering their postcode and then selecting their address at www.staffsmoorlands.gov.uk/findyourbinday.

Stoke-on-Trent City Council

If your area is covered by Stoke-on-Trent City Council, you can search for your property by using this link.

You will also find details of what to put in your bins on the website if you need a reminder.

Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council

Newcastle Borough Council has a similar system on their website where you can enter your postcode and quickly find out when your bin day is.

They also remind residents that their bins need to be out by 6am on the allocated day.
