Third man charged after two men stabbed in Longton

A third man has been charged after two people were stabbed during a fight in Longton.

Leo Mhillaj, 40, of Hanley, has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and one count of violent disorder.

It comes after officers were called to The Strand at 11.45am on Saturday (6 June), following a report of a group of people fighting with weapons in the street.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "Leo Mhillaj, 40, of Hanley, who is white and of Albanian nationality, has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and one count of violent disorder.

"Two men who were injured in the incident were taken to hospital. They remain there in a stable condition today (Wednesday 10 June)."

Aldo Hala, 22, of Goldenhill, Stoke-on-Trent, and Konstandin Kola, 28, of Penkhull, Stoke-on-Trent, appeared in court on Monday 8 June after being charged in connection with this investigation.

They have both been remanded in custody ahead of their next appearance at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on 6 July.

Leo Mhillaj appeared at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre today.

He has also been remanded in custody and is due to appear at the same hearing on 6 July.
