One of North Staffordshire's much-loved dining destinations has temporarily closed its doors as it embarks on a refurbishment.

Over £300k is being spent on the refurbishment at The Orange Tree Bar & Grill, on Newcastle Road, by the restaurant's owner Parogon Group which will see the interior "reimagined with a fresh, contemporary aesthetic".

First opened in 2013, the restaurant will reopen with a "VIP night" on Friday 23rd May with the official opening from Saturday 24th May and customers "will have the opportunity to win tickets to the official launch night".

Rich Colclough, managing director said: "We're so excited to give The Orange Tree Newcastle the refresh it deserves.

"This refurbishment is about continuing to provide an elevated experience for our guests, from stunning interiors to menus menu built around exceptional local meat & produce.

"We can't wait to share our new look with both new and familiar faces once we re-open!"

The owners say the restaurant will still retain its warm atmosphere and will be accompanied by a recently launched menu with focus on premium steak dishes. There will be live DJs and singers performing 7:30pm-11:30pm every Friday.

On the updated menu guests can enjoy an array of 30-day dry-aged Grass Fed Select Breed and Black Angus cuts.

The menu has also been updated to include a selection of large cuts such as the Boston Rib Steak and Tomahawk Steak, available in a selection of weights purchased from a local butcher daily.

The Grill Plate Sharer features a British Boneless Chicken Escalope, Treacle-Glazed Pork Strip, Cornish Lamb T-Bone and Sweet Maple Cured Bacon Ribeye.

Vegetarian options haven't been overlooked, with dishes like the Hot Honey Halloumi & Pineapple Skewer and Smoked Aubergine Parmo.

The re-opening brings with it the re-invigoration of Friday nights in Newcastle-Under-Lyme. Guests can now enjoy a complementary glass of house wine with any grill dish.
