Stoke-on-Trent Train Station will be closed for four days this week due to RMT Union strikes.

Walkouts are planned on January 3, 4, 6 and 7.

No Avanti trains will stop at Stoke-on-Trent during these four days.

An Avanti spokesperson said: "On these dates, customers should expect our timetable and operating hours to be reduced significantly, and note that services that do run are expected to be extremely busy.

"We strongly advise you to only travel by rail if absolutely necessary on strike days.

"If your journey is essential, please plan ahead as your entire journey will likely be severely disrupted. The days after industrial action will also be affected."

Customers who booked tickets to travel on these strike days before the industrial action was announced can claim a full, fee-free refund from their point of purchase.

Alternatively, customers with pre-booked tickets for strike days can use these on alternative travel dates.
