Stoke-on-Trent has been revealed as the fourth cheapest city for student renters in Great Britain by data from Rightmove.
The average monthly rental payment in Stoke-on-Trent was found to be £894.
Stoke's monthly rent remains lower than the national average of £1,565 but has still seen a rise of around 53 percent over the last five years.
A spokesperson for Rightmove said: "Even in the cheapest cities, affordability remains challenging.
"Eight out of the 10 lowest-priced cities have seen rents rise by over a third compared to five years ago, which is reflecting the broader rental market pressures impacting students."
The cheapest city was revealed to be Hull, Yorkshire with an average monthly rent of £804, after Rightmove analysed prices from over 50 cities in Great Britain.
With an average monthly rent of £2,359, the most expensive city was revealed as St. Albans in the East of England.
Rightmove property expert, Colleen Babcock offered some advice to student renters: "Moving to a new city or just out of the family home for the first time is an exciting experience for many students, but trying to find that first place to rent can be hard.
"To make it easier, deciding on your budget range first can help you narrow the options.
"If you're finding it difficult to find a home that ticks all your boxes, consider which areas you're willing to compromise on."
