Stoke-on-Trent's Goods Yard ready to welcome residents from June

The first residents of the £63 million Goods Yard project in Stoke will move in from June and the developer is hosting an open day this Saturday.
The developer, Capital&Centric, has released images inside its 174-apartment block as it prepares to welcome residents next month.
They mostly show the living areas of the one, two and three-bed apartments with rent prices currently starting at £850pcm.
Capital&Centric says each apartment will have exposed concrete finishes and floor-to-ceiling windows with "sustainable Scandi pieces" from HAY furniture.

Residents will also have access to amenities including a gym and fitness studio, mini cinema, co-working space, resident lounge, and private dining.
Cllr Chris Robinson, cabinet member for housing and planning at Stoke-on-Trent Council, said: "There has been so much excitement around Goods Yard and I can't wait for people to see it.
"I'm sure they won't be disappointed. This is a first-of-a kind development for the city which offers unique homes, new opportunities for businesses, green space and improved access to our towns and city centre.

"Goods Yard is a perfect example of how we are combining the old with the new when it comes to regeneration, so I am delighted that it is opening during our Centenary year as we celebrate our city's past, present and future."
At an open day on Saturday 24 May, prospective residents will get an exclusive sneak peek around the new neighbourhood and inside the new homes.
Prospective residents are even being encouraged by the developer to "arrive at 10am to secure first dibs on a new apartment before they all get snapped up" as the interest in the apartments has been "incredible".

Tom Wilmot, joint managing director at Capital&Centric said: "These interior shots showcase what we've created at Goods Yard, and we can't wait to welcome people down for a first look on 24th May.
"This takes city living in Stoke-on-Trent to a whole new level.
"What sets the Goods Yard apart is how it stitches together standout homes, lively hangout spots, and good transport links in one place. Step off the train and you're home in minutes; head downstairs and you're into landscaped gardens, lounges, and indie amenities.

"Interest has been incredible, so make sure you're there at 10am to secure your perfect apartment."
At the heart of the development is a new public square, which can currently be seen from Glebe Street.

The canal jetty is being overhauled into a waterside green spot, with outdoor seating for canalside drinks and dining while a new direct, much improved walkway will bring the Goods Yard square within a 60-second walk of the neighbouring Stoke-on-Trent Railway Station.
There will also be a number of bars, eateries, and stores which are yet to be officially announced.
Anyone interested in securing an apartment at the open day on Saturday 24 May should head to the Olio Living website here or email [email protected].
