Stoke-on-Trent school holiday programme returns this easter

Over 300 free activity sessions for children in Stoke-on-Trent will be taking place of the Easter holidays.
Families in Stoke-on-Trent will have access to free activities over the Easter holidays as part of the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme delivered by Stoke-on-Trent City Council and the Hubb Foundation.
This year's Easter HAF will run from Monday 30 March to Friday 10 April and each session will feature "activities and a free healthy meal".
Councillor Sarah Jane Colclough, cabinet member for children's services at Stoke-on-Trent City Council, said: "It is important that every child in Stoke-on-Trent have opportunities to have fun and eat healthily over the Easter holidays.
"There is a wide range of activities that every child can enjoy for free and these experiences ensure children can thrive and receive the support they deserve. I encourage all parents who are eligible to check out what's on."
Activities for teenagers include Introductions to Plumbing, Joinery and Electrics courses and an innovative podcasting course along with fun sport and dance classes while primary school children can access dance and drama workshops as well as citywide sport activity sessions.
Jane Sawyers, Chair of The Hubb Foundation, said: "We passionately believe that every young person in our city is entitled to a happy, healthy childhood and this includes having opportunities that really enrich their school holidays.
"Children from disadvantaged families are far less likely to access organised out-of-school activities and more likely to experience 'unhealthy holidays' in terms of nutrition, physical health and social isolation.
"The HAF programme bridges that gap and makes a real difference to thousands of families across the city."
