Stoke-on-Trent man who committed child sex offences jailed for eight years

A Stoke-on-Trent man who committed 10 child sex offences in the 2010s has been jailed for eight years.
Paul Adewusi, 40, of Meir, previously admitted eight counts of sexual activity with a child and two counts of inciting sexual activity with a girl.
He was jailed at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court today (Tuesday 17 March) for eight years and was given a lifetime Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
Staffordshire Police began investigating Adewusi when he was reported to them in April 2024, "while supporting the survivor as much as possible".
The offences happened in the 2010s.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "Due to the strength of the evidence, and the survivor's bravery, Adewusi admitted the offences in court."
Detective Constable James Esam, from the Staffordshire Police rape and serious sexual offences unit (RASSO), said: "I'm pleased that we've been able to deliver this outcome for the survivor, who has shown immense courage in coming forward and supporting our investigation.
"No matter how long ago or recent offences may have been, we're hear here to support survivors and to take robust action against those responsible for their heinous crimes."
