A Stoke-on-Trent rapist filmed a woman while she was undressing without her knowing.

Jaroslaw Adamkowski, 42, of Stoke-on-Trent and pictured above smirking, raped a woman in February and filmed her undressed twice without her knowledge in January. Officers found the videos when they examined Adamkowski's phone.

He had originally pleaded not guilty to the offences, but because of the strength of the evidence against him, he changed his plea to guilty in court last week. 

The woman reported the abuse to police in February, prompting an investigation. Adamkowski was arrested and brought in for questioning, where evidence was secured to charge him with a number of offences. 

 On Thursday 2 October he pleaded guilty to the rape of a woman and two counts of voyeurism.

Speaking following the sentencing, Detective Sergeant Razwana Nasheen said: "I'm pleased that we've been able to secure this result for the survivor who has been incredibly brave in coming forward and speaking to us about the abuse she suffered.  

"I want all survivors of sexual offences to know that we are here for you and we are determined to seek the toughest possible punishment for those responsible for these heinous crimes."

Adamkowski has been remanded and will be sentenced at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on 3 November.
